Original Paintings
All of my Original Paintings are hand-drawn and hand-painted on watercolor paper.
I tend to find inspiration in nature, childhood stories, and play-on-words.
"Conspiracy Theory" April 2025 As a child I thought that squirrels secretly came out at night to paint the trees in the fall. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I'd often say "I want to paint the trees" and I guess I just imagined working alongside these dedicated squirrel artists. I wanted to finally be able to show what my childhood brain imagined. Originally painted on 18''x24'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Flamboyant" May 2024 Peacocks have been fascinating to me. They're so beautiful, so mean (I've been screamed at by several), and so symbolic in different cultures. I think of them as flamboyant, beautiful diva birds and I very much enjoy painting them. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Downtime" June 2024 "Downtime" is a painting of a raccoon in a swamp based off of a fabulous photograph taken by my sister-in-law in Florida. I loved the idea of a raccoon taking some "chill time" from rummaging around people's trash to taking a spa day in a swamp. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Possum Party" July 2024 Could also be called Opossum Oparty, this is my best-selling print! I wanted something to show my love of the Virginian Opossum so I created this little birthday party. The cupcakes all have various foods that possums like to eat. They're wonderful for your yard and are incredibly fascinating creatures. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Silent Preyer" August 2024 This is an imagined scene of a moment when somebody tries to take a picture of a beautiful owl, only to look up and realize they've been the one being watched the whole time. This was first displayed at the Nori art gallery in Kansas City and has a poem written about it that is included in any prints sold. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"The Feminist Agenda" November 2024 This painting is based off of St. George and the Dragon. I was fascinated with this story and the various art pieces of it as a kid. The one major problem for me was that I believed St. George should have befriended the dragon instead of slaying it. This reimagining of the art puts a female knight on a majestic pink unicorn pictured with her dragon friend making s'mores together. It is titled The Feminist Agenda to make people upset. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Murder Invitation" July 2024 When driving down Route 66 at night, especially in the Southwest, there are some fabulous hotel/motel signs and big beautiful crows everywhere. Pairing the crow pun with the fact that most of these Motels look as though they may be luring you to your death, Murder Invitation is my imagined image of two different invitations. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Native Carousel" September 2024 "Native Carousel" was inspired from the Endangered Species Carousel at the Kansas City Zoo. Growing up, I always loved that special attention was paid to the art surrounding the endangered animals to also depict endangered species. I took that into account with this Native Species Carousel by making sure that the flowers and bugs surrounding the native animals were also native to Missouri. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Boo Bees" September 2024 In honor of anyone who thinks fine art is just paintings of boo bees. I'm not sure why there are so many people requesting that I paint boo bees but I'm here to give the people what they want. I painted this in honor of breast cancer awareness month in October 2024 and it is one of my favorites. These three little boo bees are just trying to pollinate some flowers in glow of the ghost lights. They're doing good work. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Chupie Discovered" May 2024 Chupie is the name of the feral cat who often visits my backyard. I enjoy painting her through her own fantasy lens. This painting depicts her looking up to see her discoverer while drinking from a mystical pond. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
"Space Phoenix" May 2024 I am amazed by people's stories of resilience and rising out of awful situations. A friend of mine shared her story with me, and told me that the image of a phoenix is very special to her. I joked with her that she wasn't just a phoenix, she was out of this world, a Space Phoenix! This was made in honor of her and others who feel a cosmic pull to get back up. Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents
